Temporary Housing Design and Well-Being for Ugandan Refugees
This recipient focused their project around the issue of refugee settlement and the psychological impacts of displacement and temporary housing. The student served alongside the Community Technology Empowerment Network (CTEN) to collect housing data on the Bidi Bidi Settlement in Uganda, train other research assistants on how to collect such data and contribute to informing the United Nations High Commission on Refugees’ (UNHCR) settlement policies. This student connected globally to inform representatives in her target community on how to apply the research finding to future settlement policies.
