Student Engagement at the COP23 Climate Conference
Including students in the Cornell delegation for the 23rd United Nations climate conference
Since the Paris Agreement was signed at the 21st Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) in 2015, the world has embarked on truly global commitments to mitigate and adapt to climate change. This project enables ten students to attend the UN COP23 climate negotiations in Bonn, Germany in November 2017 and serve as members of the Cornell delegation, engaging with delegates from around the world. Before and after COP23, the students will work with climate change groups from Cornell and the Ithaca community, sharing what they experienced while at the UN conference and helping plan for future Cornell involvement at the COPs.
