Society of Implementation Science in Nutrition Experiential Learning Opportunity (SISN ELO)- Iron-Folic Acid Supplementation (IFAS) in Kenya and Uganda
This student worked with the Society of Implementation Science in Nutrition on an Implementation Science Initiative. In this initiative, the student worked to improve iron-folic acid supplementation (IFAS) programs in Kenya and Uganda. The student observed barriers that prevent expecting mothers in these regions from accessing IFAS; and, with her community partner, served to create solutions for the areas that were affected by such barriers. In this process, the recipient learned more about implementation science and developed tools to continue addressing immediate challenges and barriers to access.
