Community-Engaged Student Travel Grants

Redefining Urban Space: Transgender(ed) Precincts in Delhi

Highlighting the stories of the transgender community to increase awareness for policymakers.

This grant recipient researched the organization of space inhabited by transgender people from a policy-making perspective. The student collected stories from the transgender community in Delhi, India, to help include transgender perspectives within the policy-making framework. The stories will help to normalize and highlight the transgender community in Delhi. The research collected from this project will be supplemented with other case studies from American cities.
