Powerhouse Tiny Home Mobile Exhibition
Building an educational resource to spread the word about green technology
While energy efficient technology use is on the rise, there continues to be a need for accessible information about efficient heating, lighting and solar options for residential audiences. Cornell University Sustainable Design is constructing Powerhouse, an attractive, mobile, high-performance “tiny home” with hands-on, interactive exhibits about green technologies. The exhibits will be designed to help visitors better understand how these technologies work, estimate potential savings from their use, and learn how to incorporate them into their homes. Once built, Powerhouse will be used by Get Your GreenBack Tompkins to reach thousands of people from diverse audiences throughout the Southern Tier of New York state.
