Engaged Opportunity Grants
Ongwe (The People) Podcast
Portraying the dynamism of indigenous peoples and their resiliency through telling positive stories of achievement, struggle and survival
Oftentimes indigenous peoples are relegated to history books or stand still in fixed iconic images of the past, believed to be extinct. The concept of the “Ongwe (The People)” Podcast is to engage with Haudenosaunee communities and other First Nations communities throughout North America to highlight and discuss current affairs, community projects, governance, entrepreneurship, language and cultural preservation, indigenous knowledge, scholarship, arts, athletics and everyday life.
Topics: Access, Equity and Justice; Arts, Communication, Media and Design; Children, Youth, Seniors and Families; Culture, Language and History; EconomicVitality and Entrepreneurship; Education; Energy, Environment and Sustainability; Food and Agriculture; Health, Nutrition and Medicine; Law, Government and Policy
