Natural Sciences Communication Workshop
Demystifying scientific methods and engaging the public through social media platforms
Americans increasingly rely on social media to access news and other content, including scientific information. Therefore, it’s critically important that scientists demystify scientific methods by exposing the public to the process of science, rather than just the results of science, in order to promote greater communication and build trust with the public.
In this project, graduate students, postdocs and early-career scientists participate in a science communication workshop directed by the American Association for Advancing Science and hosted by the Paleontological Research Institution. The workshop provides training and resources for sharing science on social media and achieving a wide range of engagement goals.
