Engaged Opportunity Grants
HOME: A Documentary Project on Affordable Housing
Explaining the past, present and future of Ithaca’s housing crisis
This documentary series — produced by Ithaca Voice freelancers and editors with Cornell student interns and staff — is the first of its kind to unpack Ithaca’s housing crisis with a focus on the history of the market and on government, nonprofit and activist work to address the issue. After the full series is published, interview transcripts, data and other archives gathered through the production of the series will be made available to journalists or researchers who want to build upon the work. Additionally, the Ithaca Voice is using the project to encourage future Cornell students to intern with the newsroom.
