Community-Engaged Student Travel Grants
Cornell Global Health Summer Program in Zambia
Collaborating with partners in Lusaka, Zambia, to conduct research on health policy in the country
Students travel to Lusaka, Zambia, where they work in partnership with the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research (SAIPAR) to conduct research on health policy in the country. While there, they have the opportunity to shadow physicians in several departments at the University Teaching Hospital. The program allows students to explore the advantages and disadvantages of development and enhance their understanding of global health by challenging stereotypical Western conceptions of Africa as poor, rural and underdeveloped.
