Finkelstein Laboratory: Collaborative Engaged Research to Improve Community Health in Coastal Ecuador
Conducting research on arboviruses in light of the recent increase in Zika
The grant recipient conducted research in Guayaquil, Ecuador, with the Finkelstein Lab Group on arboviruses due to the recent increase in Zika and the need for more information for the lab’s ongoing projects. The clinical chart review met the outlined goal of quantifying the prevalence of arboviruses and the typical case presentations, so that future interventions and treatments can be better tailored to meet the community’s needs.
