Engaged Opportunity Grants
Finger Lakes Water Resources, Campus-Community Research and Adaptation
A radio series exploring the Finger Lakes region’s changing relationships with water
The Finger Lakes region is defined by its rich water resources, making it an excellent place to explore the ways climate change is altering people’s relationship with water — through flooding and drought, harmful algal blooms, water quality, as well as impact on infrastructure, commerce and food production.
In the fall 2019 radio series, “Ripple Effect,” WRFI and community collaborators — including students in Cornell’s BEE 4730: Watershed Engineering — take a deep dive to explore how scientists, businesses, farmers, planners, lawmakers and ordinary residents in the Finger Lakes region are planning for and building resiliency in anticipation of impending water crises.
