Serve in Place Fund

Feminist Praxis, Representation and Migration

This students served as an assistant in a Cornell First-year Writing Seminar, where they created a series of assignments centered around applying an intersectional feminist approach to the issue of immigration detention centers. In addition, the recipient created a pen pal system for the class to interact with individuals in ICE detention centers. The overarching goal of this project was to engage with the issue of migrant detention and the dehumanizing conditions of such detention, while also enabling current Cornell undergraduates to have exposure and knowledge of the issue.
