Engaged Curriculum Grants

Engaged Learning Curriculum in Global Development

Designing a community-engaged curriculum for Cornell’s new Department of Global Development

Community-engaged learning and research will be a cornerstone of the Department of Global Development, being created by faculty in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. This team’s goal is to build upon the strengths of the Department of Development Sociology and International Programs-CALS and create an innovative and unparalleled program where faculty, staff, students and external partners collaborate to address the world’s greatest development challenges. Community partners will eventually include an array of domestic and international agencies, organizations, and/or businesses with development missions, including ones that already have long-standing partnerships with CALS faculty. The planning grant supports the team as they intentionally, methodically and strategically design a world renowned, engaged Global Development undergraduate curriculum.
