Engaged Opportunity Grants
Cornell-ICSD Literary Arts Initiative
Designing writing workshops and creating a literary magazine with Ithaca City School District elementary schools
The Cornell-ICSD Literary Arts Initiative brings Cornell students into collaboration with teachers and students in the Ithaca City School District to run writing workshops and produce a literary magazine. The project team, in coordination with elementary school classroom teachers, are drawing up a set of grade-appropriate writing exercises that teachers can distribute with other distance-learning assignments. The team is then compiling and editing the ICSD student submissions into a literary magazine that is printed and distributed to all student members of the elementary school community.
