Supporting a professional development conference for graduate students interested in science communication
The 4th Annual ComSciCon-Cornell — taking place in summer 2018 — is a unique professional development experience designed to support graduate students interested in the communication of scientific research to broad audiences. Attendees come from universities across Central and Western New York to network with other students passionate about science communication, learn from and interact with a diverse group of professional communicators and experts and produce original works communicating scholarly research. The 2018 conference focuses on digital communications with an emphasis on effective storytelling, dealing with socially sensitive topics and public engagement. This Engaged Opportunity Grant funds travel and lodging for invited speakers.
