Grants for Faculty Research on Engagement
Community Engagement and Ethical Research
What is the best way to train future scientists and engineers to be rigorous, ethical researchers? Do students develop a deeper commitment to ethical practice if they engage with communities affected by research? This team is studying whether meeting the populations affected by research inspires better research practices. By measuring and assessing the attitudes of undergraduate STEM students, the researchers are investigating what types of engagement and research training have an impact on ethical thinking and practice.
