Engaged Opportunity Grants
Building Engagement Skills Through Storytelling and Photography
Staging workshops that explore the potential of photography and storytelling for community-engaged learning
Award-winning photographer/author/storyteller John Noltner visited Cornell’s Ithaca campus twice in 2019 for activities supported by this grant. In the spring, Noltner conducted a photo shoot at the Tatkon Center. During the fall visit, he inspired, instructed and interacted with students and faculty to build their skills and expand their understanding of the potential for the creative use of storytelling and photography for community development and engagement. He held a series of seminars/workshops and other events organized by CaRDI, the Tatkon Center and Mann Library.
