  • Thomas Golden’s faculty profile

Cohort year(s)

  • 2018-19, Faculty Fellow in Engaged Learning

2018-19 Project

Business and industry continue to face a shrinking workforce, requiring creative and innovative approaches to develop untapped labor pools. In partnership with Kelly Clark, a senior extension associate with the Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, Thomas Golden is developing a new course that equips students to design and implement work-based learning practices that support the career development of secondary education students with disabilities. By assisting with a joint program offered between Cornell and TST-BOCES, students learn how to create work-based learning opportunities that align with both youth and employer goals.

Engaged Faculty Fellowship Program

A yearlong cohort program in which faculty dive deep into the theory and practice of community-engaged learning; meet monthly to discuss readings, share projects and workshop challenges; and help transform what it means to teach at Cornell
