Engaged Ambassadors

Sanjna Das ’21

Major: Biological Sciences

Concentration: Molecular and Cell Biology

The issue of public concern I’m passionate about is … educational opportunities for those who are incarcerated.

Engagement experience: I have been working with Prisoner Express for almost two years — first through the journal program and now in helping develop newsletters around topics that I am passionate about.

As an Engaged Ambassador, I … have co-facilitated the capstone dialogue series [part of the Certificate in Community-Engaged Leadership] for the fall 2020 and winter 2021 cohorts.

I got involved because … I strongly believe in working with community organizations to create change and wanted to develop a better understanding of what it means to be a community-engaged leader.

My friends would say I’m … adventurous and creative.

Best Cornell memory (so far!): Ithaca sunsets and exploring trails in the area.

Fun fact: My quarantine hobby was painting seashells.

Future plans: I plan to pursue a career at the intersection of patient care and research.
