Engaged Ambassadors

Lesly Zhicay ’23

Major: Industrial and Labor Relations

Minors: Business

As an Engaged Ambassador I … hope to support students in developing critical projects through the practice of self-reflection. I strongly believe that self-reflection allows students to build projects that are equally fulfilling for themselves and others.

I got involved because … community is important to me. Engaged Cornell allows me to expand my community beyond the halls of Cornell.

My friends would say I’m … critical, resilient and a visionary.

Best Cornell memory (so far): Meeting Anthony Jackson, the author of the book The Privileged Poor. I grew up getting lost between books, but I never had the opportunity to meet an author especially of a book that brought me so much solace.

Fun Fact: I like to do cross-stitch embroidery

Future plans: I most look forward to traveling the world and learning about different economies and cultures.
