Engaged Ambassadors
Julio I. Lopez Ramos ’21
Major: Applied Economics and Management
Concentration: Marketing
The issue of public concern I’m passionate about is … financial stability and education as well as diversity in higher education and research.
Engagement experience: Volunteer work, club engagement and coordinating events around Ithaca. I also went to Johannesburg, South Africa, and worked on marketing consulting for a farmer.
As an Engaged Ambassador, I … want to help simplify the process of being a leader on and off campus and encourage more people to be leaders in their own communities.
I got involved because … I care about a lot of different issues affecting me and those close to me.
My friends would say I’m … always interested in a lot of things and am a good leader.
Best Cornell memory (so far!): Being a co-founder of the Dyson Students of Color Coalition and being recognized by Cornell University for our efforts in increasing diversity on campus.
Fun fact: I was born in a small indigenous town in South Mexico.
Future plans: I was offered a marketing position at Microsoft next summer. My future plans are to work for them full-time as the main marketing manager for their games division.
