Certificate in Community-Engaged Leadership

The Ecology House

Mission: Ecology House promotes sustainability, animal welfare and environmental education in order to protect our communities and ecosystems from the shared negative impacts of shortsighted actions.

Earned Certificate in Engaged Leadership: 2019

We collaborate with Ecovillage to address … environmental issues caused by our agriculture and daily lifestyles.

For our project with our partner, we … created a sustainable farm based on the concept of regenerative agriculture.

It was important for us to commit to our community partner because … they share our group’s mission to live sustainable lives but on a larger scale.

Our group has benefited in that … we’ve learned many skills involved in sustainable agriculture and we’ve built stronger ties between ourselves and the greater Ithaca community.

We’ve learned that community-engaged leadership … often involves collaboration and shared responsibility among everyone involved in a project.

The best part about the group community-engaged leadership program is … it further developed our ability to think as leaders and view problems from various, distinct perspectives.

Going forward, we plan to … live our own lives more sustainably and help others continue their lifestyles with less adverse effects on the environment.
