Engaged Ambassadors

Amber Haywood ’21

Major: Psychology

Concentration: Behavioral and Evolutionary Neuroscience

The issue of public concern I’m passionate about is … the overprescription of pharmaceutical drugs, and learning about historical health disparities that affect Black people.

Engagement experience: Posse Scholar, Building Ourselves through Sisterhood and Service, Cornell Tradition, Winter Break Trip to Nicaragua, Black Students United, Residential Advisor

As an Engaged Ambassador, I … encourage students to engage with communities that they may not be familiar with.

I got involved because I … wanted to deepen my understanding of Engaged Cornell and learn how to be active in community engagement in the Ithaca area.

My friends would say I’m … goofy.

Best Cornell memory (so far!): Traveling to Nicaragua with strangers and coming back as friends!

Fun fact: I love the Bachelor and Bachelorette.

Future plans: Obtain my M.D. and become a physician!
